I've never met a genre that I unilaterally dislike. Different music for different moods, but it all moves me.

Music has always had a powerful effect on me, but I think my favorite song to "get down" to is ,"Lullabye" by the Cure...
Ther is just something about the instrumental version of that song that just screams, "MAKING LOVE."

        hmmmmm....

had an outer body experience listening to Steve Kimock live
Soulive shook me to my core
Psy-trance in the bush breathing in crisp new air
Japanese and African drumming on the top of a cliff on a small island in Japan on a summers night
Ben Harper in a Melbourne venue with the best acoustics Ive ever experienced

but there has to be dancing involved.. that gets the Kundalini rising up my spine, through my flesh, opening my heart and soul and rushing out the top of my head in a joyous stream of bliss

My daughter's voice (she sings opera). Especially her Che Faro. And the first time my beloved sang after his brain injury. It was Christmas, and it was Nat King Cole. Bliss.

    butterfly by crazy town.
But anything with a good beat and that doesn't sound like an elementary student made the lyrics or tried to sing it is a good choice.

There is only one call to freedom. Of course 1972 - 1974 when Pluto was in Coma Berenices is the best. Gentle Giant, Art Zoyd, Univers Zero, King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator, Magma, Genesis, Curved Air, ELP, Tangerine Dream and not many others.

Pretty much only 2 or artists that I can listen to these days without getting bored....

Porcupine Tree (and other Steve Wilson projects) and Riverside (a polish progressive rock band)

Dead Can Dance for a more other-worldly swirl of drums and ethnic instruments...

Wish more musicians could deliver music that is consistently top-notch, but I find that most albums these days have 1 or 2 good songs and a lot of mediocre filler songs.

    Pretty picky I guess. :-)

When my soul is weary, a dose of Sade is the only medicine.
When my soul longs to be free, only the steel drums will do...ya mon
When my soul is hungry, only a large portion of nasty hip hop with a side of rowdy guitar classics will satisfy.
